General Terms and Conditions

General Terms

These terms and conditions determine the general principals for bookings of tables, menu choices, drinks, payment, number of participants, and obligations. These are divided into general terms, rules for reservations, conditions for reservations, special days etc.

Read through the entirety of the terms and conditions, to balance expectations and to avoid misunderstandings. Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have.

There may arise situations with us, where we are exceptionally busy. This may mean a longer wait, we will of course do everything we can to avoid these situations. Enjoy the company – and we will be with you as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, we are in a time where we aren’t as staffed as we would like, considering many guests want to arrive at the same time. Therefore we need to ask for your understanding and acceptance in these situations, and that there can be a bit of a wait.

We hope to make it worth the wait, with our lovely restaurant, welcoming staff, and delicious food.

We are happy to help with certain needs in regards to the menu. We can help with children’s menus, vegetarian options, and other needs, as long as it is possible for us, to a reasonable extent.

In general we unfortunately have to pass, concerning vegan menus, just as there will be other options we cannot help with – and generally can’t adjust our dishes and menu compositions.

The space in front of Restaurant Ravelinen, unfortunately, is not to our disposition. The Copenhagen municipality enforces the “no parking” sign on the front lot. We hope to find a better solution in the future, but still want to  orientate the current status of things.

Unfortunately, we experience a rise in the tendency for guests to not show up for their reservations, or  to cancel last minute. In some cases, we will therefore need to collect payment for late cancellation or no-show. See point 5

Card Information at Reservation

To guarantee your reservation, Restaurant Ravelinen needs your credit card information. These need to be presented in connection with booking via our booking portal, on our website.

These informations are stored safely with the third party provider “Nets”. Restaurant Ravelinen does not have direct access to these informations, and they will be deleted after your visit with us.

We accept Dankort, Visa and Mastercard. Unfortunately we do not accept American Express.

Payment with Dankort and private credit cards can be used without surcharge, whereas with company credit cards and foreign credit cards, there will be added a surcharge of 1.99% on the bill. The reasoning behind being that these cards will charge us the same amount from the card provider. Therefore we encourage you to pay with Dankort, private credit cards or cash, so you can pay without surcharge.

Principals for Booking

Drinks with the food, we expect you to order as needed, and will be settled with the food.
It if unfortunately not possible to split the check and pay individually – but we will gladly help you to start multiple tabs, if that is the case.

3.1.          8-11 Participants

To avoid an unnecessary wait for you and other guests, we kindly ask that you choose a somewhat identical menu. Children and vegetarians are of course excused. For lunch you could chose one of our lovely “Cold Table”s, where you get to taste a bit of everything. Alternatively you a choose between a maximum of 2 different dishes per course. So if you for instance choose 3 courses at the table, you can choose between 2 different dishes, for each of the 3 courses.

In the evenings, it is possible to choose between 2 different starters, 2 different main courses, and 2 different desserts.

3.2          12 or More Participants

As a larger group you need to choose an identical menu, ahead of time, to avoid an unnecessary wait. Unfortunately, this is the only option we can provide.

In regards to drinks, we ask that you make a gathered or general order for the table, to avoid unnecessary waiting times for you and other guests. In general it will not be possible to order individually, but with special requirements, we will help as best possible. The drinks will be settled together with the food.
It i unfortunately not possible to split the check and pay individually – but we will gladly help you to start multiple tabs, if that is the case.

3.3          Particularly Popular Days

On days that are particularly popular, there will be a limited menu, to avoid an unnecessary wait. This counts for certain rules for downward adjustment of participants or cancellation.
See point 5.4 below.

We will, of course, bring this to your attention ahead of time, if we are talking about one of these particular days – and it will also be written in the beginning of your booking confirmation.

Adjustment of Number of Participants

By adjustments to the number of participants, times, or menu, please let us know as soon as possible, so we have a chance to change anything. Otherwise we will stick to the agreement we have made and the general terms for cancellation.

4.1          More Participants

If you should be more participants than agreed upon, we will try our best to accommodate this, but this can not be guaranteed, and we reserve the right to refuse the request.

4.2          Less Participants

By downward adjusting the number of participants, see point 5 below.

No-Shows and Late Cancellations

We are unfortunately experiencing a rising tendency of guests not showing up to their reservations or cancelling very late. In some cases it will therefore be necessary to take payment for late cancellations or no-shows. Se more about this below.

5.1          1-11 Participants

By downward adjusting the number of participants later than 48 hours before the time of the reservation, or by not showing up for your reservation, there will be charged an amount of 200 kr. per person you have booked for, as we have planned according to the original number of participants.

5.2          12 or More Participants

At parties of 12 or more participants, there are certain terms in regards to downsizing or no-show. This is necessary in regards to Restaurant Ravelinen’s possibility to organise, in regards to groups of this size.

By downsizing the number of participants later than 14 days before the time of reservation, we charge 50% of the  cover charge for the cancelled number of participants.

By downsizing the number of participants later than 8 days before the time of reservation we charge 75% of the original cover charge for the cancelled number of participants.

By downsizing the number of participants, or cancellation, later than 5 days before the time of reservation we charge 100% of the original cover charge, that th reservation was made for.

By not showing up for your reservation we charge 100% of the original cover charge for the number of participants, the reservation was made for.

If no other cover charge has been agreed upon in the booking confirmation, the above mentioned cover charge will be calculated at a cover charge of 600 kr. per person.

The above mentioned amount will be charged from the credit card that was put on file, a the time of booking.

5.3          Particularly Popular Days

There are some days a year, where it is particularly popular to go out to eat. This means that we, as a restaurant are vulnerable to late cancellations and no-shows. For example – in regards to Christmas lunches.

By downsizing the number of participants, or cancellations, later than 14 days before the time of the reservation, we charge 100% of the of the full cover charge for the cancelled number of participants.

If no other cover charge has been agreed upon in the booking confirmation, the above mentioned cover charge will be calculated at a cover charge of 600 kr. per person.

If Accidents Happen

If accidents should happen and someone from your table should break something – not within reason – in connection with your visit, this will be added to your bill. There will be added a charge of 500 kr. If someone from your party should vomit, and it is necessary to clean up after this. Of course, we hope that you will help avoid this happening. The guest who has made the reservation, has within reason, the responsibility to oversee the behaviour of the other guests at your table.

If there should arise a situation, where we will receive government issued restrictions, that could change parts of a previously agreed upon event, we will always attempt to adapt our agreement, so that the event the reservation has been made for, can still be hosted to the best extent.
